Description:
Our client is one of the bay area's top e-commerce, back-office cash management systems and is looking for a controller to get their accounting teams to the next level. Reporting to the VP of Operations, the Controller is responsible for the finance and accounting functions of the company. This is a "hands on" accounting position to include project management and cash management controls, maintenance and monitoring of financial systems and the preparation of accurate and timely reports to keep management informed of the performance of the Company against pre-determined goals and objectives.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Finance/Accounting:
1. Fulfill all AR/AP needs of the Company. A/R is performed in-house on Quickbooks and A/P is outsourced (you just need to direct them)
2. Supervise the preparation of accurate and timely monthly and year-end financial statements by Outsource provider. Develop a written summary of major variances from plan.
3. Using an accurate, timely information base, develop additional reports as necessary to assist all levels of management in fulfilling their responsibilities.
4. Supervise preparation of budget, income projection and cash flow summary for the upcoming 12 months (to be updated quarterly). Assist management in establishing goals for profitability, promotion, cost control and productivity.
5. Monitor the firm's overhead expenditures on a monthly basis and reports steps taken to maintain them at a level required for effective operations.
6. Prepare a monthly status report on any accounts which are sixty days past due.
7. Manage document organization to ensure easy annual and 409a audits
8. Monitor the firm's cash position on a monthly basis.
Requirements:
-B S in Accounting or Finance.
-5 plus years. CPA a plus but not required
-Excellent on Quickbooks
-Demonstrates competencies to meet and manage the responsibilities outlined above in a high tech rapidly growing organization.
